Process Purpose

The "Image Processing" process is used to process an image in terms of format, size and rotation. As a result, you will get another image file with the settings you defined in this process.

When you add a process, you are required to define its settings. This occurs in the process's properties window which is displayed automatically after having added the "Image Processing" process.

If any subsequent edition is required, double-click the process to open its properties window and enter the necessary modifications.

Fill in the following options:

Source

Path + File Name

Enter the path and name of the image file you want to process OR  click and select a variable with that value. See Variable Usage.

Do NOT use special characters. A file name should only contain alphabetic characters, numbers, and the underscore “_” character (the underscore character is commonly, used to indicate a space).

Destination

Path + File Name

Define the path and file name of the processed image by entering it OR  click and select a variable with that value. .

File Format

Select one of the available image file formats ("BMP (Bitmap)"; "PNG"; "JPG" or "PCX") from the drop-down so the source image is converted into that format.

Resize

Resize

If required, resize the source image by percentage or actual size. Check one of the following options:

By Percentage

If you check this option, you must define the percentage value for the image's resizing in the adjoining field - keeping it at 100% means the size will not change.

By Absolute Size:

If you select this option, the related "Width" and "Height" fields will be activated. Define the new width/height, in pixels, in the respective boxes.

Rotation

Rotate

If required, change the source image's rotation. Define the required rotation ("90° Clockwise"; "Clockwise", "90° Counterclockwise") or keep "None" to maintain the original image orientation.

Flip

If required, select another orientation for the source image - it can be flipped horizontally, vertically or simultaneously, in its horizontal and vertical axis.

Select the intended orientation from the drop-down or keep "None" to maintain the original orientation.

If required, click to attach any relevant notes to this process. Click it and enter your notes in the resulting text box. These notes will be displayed in the corresponding "Actions" tab or "Process" window (in the "Notes" field) and in the "Developer Report".

After filling in the required options, click to conclude or to abort the operation.

The added process is displayed in the corresponding "Actions" tab or "Process" window.

Use the right-click in MCL-Designer's input boxes to access some related options as well as the general "Cut", "Copy"; "Paste"; "Search" actions (active/inactive according to the current context).

Ex: If you right-click the "Variable" input box (included in a "Conversion's" properties window), you are provided with general editing/search actions and other more specific options such as "Variable Select" (see "Variable Select"); "Variable Insert" (see "Variable Insert"); "Insert Special Character" (see To Insert Special Characters into a Control's Text Input Field) and "Localization Select" (see Localization List).

If you right-click another input box, it may provide other possibilities.
