Overview

 

The installation of MCL-Net V4 includes the activation of the corresponding license.

Depending on the purchased license type (subscription or license), you will register it in your MCL-Mobility Platform account (specifically, in a site included in your account) OR  in your MCL-License Manager account.

There are two license types:

 

Subscription: The license is subscription based. It is active during a specific time period, includes several services and products and is linked to MCL-Mobility Platform.

A subscription implies the use of the MCL-License Renewal Service V4. This windows service can be installed at the same time as the MCL-Net V4 installation (see MCL-Net V4 Installation/Activation (Subscription) or managed as a separate service, meaning, installed in a different PC. See MCL-License Renewal Service V4.

 

License: The license is a perpetual license, meaning, it only requires a one time activation and does not have a renewal/expiration date. You will register/manage your MCL-Net V4 license(s) in an MCL-License Manager account. Installing MCL-License Renewal Service V4 is NOT required.

If, for some reason, you cancel your MCL-Net V4 license, you have a period of fourteen (14) days to reactivate it. Beyond that 14 day period, the license will be permanently blocked.

 

System Requirements

 

Ensure that your system meets the following system requirements before MCL-Net V4 is installed:

 

Supported operating systems

 

•Windows Server 2008 R2

 

•Windows Server 2012 R2

 

•Windows 8 (x86 and x64)

 

•Windows 7 (x86 and x64)

 

•Windows Vista (x86 and x64)

 

Hardware Requirements

 

•1.5 GHz or faster processor

 

•Minimum 256 MB free RAM memory available

 

•Minimum 250 MB free hard disk space available

 

•5400RPM hard disk drive or higher

 

Internet Connection

 

•Internet access to ensure contact with both cloud based platforms (MCL-Mobility Platform and/or MCL-License Manager).

When dealing with Subscription type licenses, you must ensure a continuous internet connection (to run MCL-License Renewal Service V4).

In the case of perpetual Licenses, Internet access is only required at the moment of license registration (in your MCL-License Manager account).

 

 

MCL-Net V4 Installation Architecture (Subscription)

 

An MCL-Net V4 Subscription requires the use of a specific service - MCL-License Renewal Service V4.

 

MCL-License Renewal Service V4 is essential for the maintenance of a Subscription type license. It ensures the periodical validity checks of your subscription's token.

 

This service can be installed in the same server as MCL-Net V4 (Option A) OR  in a different PC (Option B).

When deciding which option to adopt, consider the best architecture for your operational needs/management. It is entirely up to you.

To Install/Activate MCL-Net V4

 

Installing MCL-Net V4 and activating the corresponding license (Subscription or License) requires performing certain steps in the application itself and in your MCL-Mobility Platform's account (Subscription) or your MCL-License Manager account (License):

 

Start by downloading MCL-Net V4's installer file (ex.: MCL_Net_XXXXPXX.exe) from one of our websites:

MCL-Mobility Platform

MCL-Collection V4

 

Then, run the installer file and follow the instructions in MCL-Net Setup Wizard.

 

Depending on your license type (Subscription or License), check one of the following options:
