Detailing MCL-PDK Builder's Menu Section

Overview

 

The Menu Section of MCL-PDK Builder includes several commands that are available in the "File" menu and as shortcut buttons. The "?" menu provides information on the MCL-PDK Builder tool.

 

 

 

The MCL-PDK Builder's "File" Menu

 

The "File" menu provides access to several commands related to the "*.pdk" file.

 

"File" menu

New

This option is used to create a new PDK. See Creating/Editing a PDK.

Open

This command is used to open an existing PDK. When clicked, this option opens an OS browse window so you can find/select the intended PDK.

Save

Use this option to save/apply your changes in the currently open PDK. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.

Save as

It is used to save the currently open PDK with a new name or information. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.

Close

This option closes the currently open PDK. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.

If the PDK has unsaved data, a new window opens offering the possibility to save the changes (), close the PDK without saving the changes () or maintain the PDK open ().

Verify

This option is used to verify the consistency of the currently open PDK. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.

If there are issues, the corresponding error message is displayed on the bottom of the main window, in red. If there are no issues, the "PDK is valid" message is displayed in green.

Config

Use this option to open the PDK's configuration file ("*.inf"). The resulting window displays the "*.inf" file's parameters which can be edited.

Exit

This option closes MCL-PDK Builder.

If there are unsaved changes in the currently open PDK, a window opens with three options - Click to apply your changes, click to close the application without saving your edition or to keep MCL-PDK Builder open.

The options of the "?" menu regard the MCL-PDK Builder itself.

Used to access the MCL-PDK Builder's user guide -opens the corresponding web page.

About

Used to view the current version of MCL-PDK Builder.

 

 

The MCL-PDK Builder's Shortcut Buttons

 

MCL-PDK Builder provides shortcut buttons for the commands that can be found in the "File" menu.

 

Shortcut Icons

This button is used to create a new PDK. See Creating/Editing a PDK.

Use this button to open an existing PDK.

This button saves/applies your changes in the currently open PDK. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.

This button is used to close the currently open PDK. It only becomes active after the selection of an existing PDK or creation of a new one.
