Process Purpose

The "Enable/Disable" process is used in an Inventory operation (asynchronous operation). It authorizes the use of the RFID reader - the reader must be enabled to operate.

The enabling and disabling of the RFID reader must be explicit.

This process is usually added to a screen (to its "Ready" action).

Make sure you have already created the required RFID profile(s). See Creating an RFID Profile.

Check the necessary steps to create an RFID program in To Create an RFID Program.

When you add a process, you are required to define its settings. This occurs in the process's properties window which is displayed automatically after having added the "Enable/Disable" process.

If any subsequent edition is required, double-click the process to open its properties window and enter the necessary modifications.

Check the intended option:

RFID

Enable

Check this option to enable the RFID reader.

Disable

Check this option to disable the RFID reader.

If required, click to attach any relevant notes to this process. Click it and enter your notes in the resulting text box. These notes will be displayed in the corresponding "Actions" tab or "Process" window (in the "Notes" field) and in the "Developer Report".

Click to apply the selected option.

The added process is displayed in the corresponding "Actions" tab or "Process" window.

Taking into consideration that the gathered tag data (via RFID Tag reads) will have to be handled, remember to use the “RFID” action (associated to a screen) and, if necessary, the” Decode BCD” process to organize/decode/store the incoming information.

See Actions Associated with Screens.

See Working with Decode BCD Process.
