Navigating the Data Files Module

The "Data Files" module enables the adding/viewing and editing of data files. Data Files are local files (located on the device) that are available for use within an MCL-Designer project. This module displays the aliases of the data files included in the current project.

 

 

Available Menus

 

Access this menu by right-clicking an empty space in the "Data Files" module or the module's title.

 

Use this menu to:

 

Add File

Create a new data file. See Creating a Data File.

Library Import

Import a data file from "Library". See To Import a Data File from Library.

 

 

Access a shortcut menu by right-clicking an existing data file.

Use this right-click menu to:

 

Edit

Edit the selected data file. See Editing a Data File.

Duplicate File

Duplicate the selected data file. See Duplicating Data File.

Delete

Delete the selected data file. See Deleting a Data File.

Edit Data

Edit the data of the selected data file. See Populating Data File for Testing and Simulating Purposes.

Library Export

Export the selected data file to "Library". See To Export a Data File to Library.

Search 'xxx'

Open a "Search" window. See Detail of Search.

 

The "Search" option in this right-click menu enables an automatic search and returns the occurrences of the selected text string in the current project.

 

 

 

Drag-and-Drop

 

If required, use the “Drag-and-Drop” mechanism to organize your data files within the "Data Files" module.

When you have more than one data file, you can drag a data file to the intended position.
