Overview

Within MCL-Designer V4, databases that are located in a remote server are designated as remote databases. The "Remote Database" module allows you to easily view and manage the remote database profiles being used within the current project.

If you intend to use a remote database in a project, you must create the corresponding remote database profile. This profile consists of the connection to the actual remote database. The profile, which is available in the "Remote Database" module, allows you to import the remote database's structure and to view a database table's data. See Navigating the Remote Database Module.

MCL-Designer provides you with processes (ex: to insert, select, update, delete records, etc.) that work with remote databases. See Working with the Remote Database Processes Group.
